Botox Cosmetic works for face wrinkle smoothing by injecting small doses of botulinum toxin into the targeted muscle groups responsible for creating the wrinkles. When the toxin enters the muscle, it blocks the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that causes muscle contractions. By preventing the muscle from contracting, the wrinkles in the overlying skin gradually soften and smooth out.
Botox is most commonly used to treat forehead lines, frown lines, and crow's feet. The procedure is relatively quick, taking around 10-15 minutes with minimal discomfort.
